Professional dog grooming is big business and can be quite expensive there are many services available for example; dog grooming parlours, mobile dog grooming, and others that will come to your home and perform this service

The question is why do we need to groom our dogs?

Expert opinion is to groom a dog is as important as grooming ourselves to a certain extent. The question is if you did not wash yourself for 7 days or more how would you smell, or the real issue is how would your friends or family react to you?

When a dog does not smell too good and he or she jumps up we have a tendency to turn away from them, and dogs are very sensitive towards this and can feel rejected.

The point is all dogs need grooming as we do ourselves, even dogs with a small amount of hair in their coat.

The subject is how difficult is it to groom your own dog and is it possible for you to achieve this?

The core explanation that numerous dogs are not groomed every week is due to the price, at the end of the day if there was a fee for every time we need to be bathed the amount of dirty people in the world would be far more.

To have your dog groomed is something that is not affordable for everyone, if this is your situation then it’s really not that difficult to do it your self, once you gain the technique it is a fraction of the cost to using a professional service.

Here are a couple of things to get you off the mark. The primary thing is to wash the dog in a shampoo, however be cautious with your choice of commercial shampoos they can be expensive and often cause skin irritation and dryness of the skin, making your own herbal shampoo is by far the best option if you know how.

You will need some dog’s towels a couple of face cloths plus a Loofah; this is to get rid of the dead skin, plus a bath mat where the material is made of a material similar to a towel.

Don’t make the mistake of showing any signs of stress when you are washing your dog stay calm for this is stressful for him, don’t drop him in the bath in an aggressive way imagine it is a new born baby be gentle.

Over a period of time if you perform this in an efficient way the dog gets to enjoy this event and feels loved.

There is a great deal to learn about dog grooming I regret I am unable to cover in this short article, but this should point you in the right direction to get started.

Smart Owners Use Dog Clippers At Home
Dog Clippers

If you own a dog that requires frequent trips to the groomer, you know that it can be expensive. Perhaps you have considered buying your own dog clippers and trimming your pet yourself. If you are just looking to do a basic cut, this can be easy to do and save you money.

You can purchase a set of clippers online or at a pet store. A quality kit should come with different guards for the blade that allow you to customize the length of the trim. You should also have a pair of scissors, leash and collar, and a sturdy surface to work on. Use towels or sheets to make clean up easier, or work in an easy to sweep area.

If your dog is uncooperative at the groomers, don’t expect that it will be any different at home. If you are confident enough to try, go ahead, just try to be patient with your pet. Situations like this can be a challenge even for a groomer with years of experience.

A groomer usually has a post or other place to tether the dog to the table to prevent falls and escapes. You should use your dogs leash and collar to ensure that there are no unexpected falls. Using a mat on the tabletop can help make it less slippery for your pet, and put him at ease.

Use a guard on the blade that will give you the desired length of cut. For very short cuts, you can fore go the guard altogether. Starting at the back of the neck and working toward the tail is usually easiest. Work slowly, gently, and never force the blade. Clippers can become hot during use, so be sure you stop now and then to check the blade and avoid burning your pet. There are cooling sprays available that will instantly remove heat from the blade. Keeping the blade lubricated can help as well.

If you come across a mat as you work, gently loosen the hair around it with the clippers, and work slowly to dislodge it. Skin under and around the mat can become sensitive, so take care not to pull at it or force the blade against it. Causing your pet pain may make it harder to continue.

When it comes to doing the paw areas, take your time. Pets can have ticklish feet just like people, and it may be difficult to trim these areas. Bending the leg so that the bottom of the paw faces up will give you a good view of the area, and may make your pet cooperate as he will be off balance.

Before you do any more, give your dog a treat, let him out into the yard for a few minutes, he will need a small break. This will also allow the clipper blade to cool down before you do the neck and face areas.

To do the neck, hold your dog gently around the snout and lift his head. Continue to trim the neck and face. Be careful when trimming around the eye and ear areas, and ensure the trimmer blade is not hot.

With practice, you and your dog will become more efficient and expert at using dog clippers at home. Although it can seem like a difficult task, you and your dog will become more at ease each time you do it. You can use the extra money you will save to treat your dog to a few new toys!

Dog Clippers question by brianinplattecity: Purchasing DOG clippers. Many different kinds, any suggestions as to which are good and which are crap?
Dog was heavy wool like undercoat so I need good clippers. Would rather spend the extra money to get sturdy dependable clippers. I have been told to stay away from WAHLs and only shop for Osters and Andis models. But so many models..

From Dog Washing To Dog Grooming

Many people think that dog grooming should be left for professionals, but obviously they have never tried it before. Dog grooming is actually not that hard and it can be a lot of fun, you can spend some more time with your dog than usually, and everyone knows how much dogs love attention.

Nobody has the time to take a dog to the salon every other week. Time is not the only problem actually, since these visits to professional dog grooming places cost a lot of money. If you don’t have the time and the money for this anymore, get a dog grooming equipment and be the stylist of your dog for the day.

A dog grooming equipment is not too expensive and lets face it, you will need it if you have a dog. You will actually save a lot of money this way. Besides, you would do anything to have a clean dog, right? Here are a few tips on how to make a lovely clean dog from a fuzzy dirty one.

The best thing is to make your dog get used to grooming when he or she is still a puppy. If you do this you will never have any difficulties with dog grooming. After you buy the dog grooming equipment, which should include combs, brushes, clipper and trimmers, you are ready to begin. Puppies’ and dogs’ hair should be brushed every day, especially if they have longer hair. If you neglect this, the hair will get so tangled after a while, that you will just have to shave it off. Brush and comb carefully, so you don’t hurt the skin of your dog. With a little bit of attention and practice do it yourself dog grooming can become an everyday routine.

Dog bathing is essential, especially if you keep the dog in the house. Dogs are not like people: we wash our clothes every time they get dirty, but dogs don’t do that. After a while their fur gets dusty and it also smells. Having a smelly pet in the house is definitely not a very nice thing. Don’t be afraid of dog bathing: some of the dogs even enjoy it and they can get used to it pretty fast. Before you start dog bathing, prepare towels, dog shampoo and a big tub full of cool water. If your never tried dog washing before, your pet might be a little scared, not understanding a thing of what’s going on. This is normal, in this case just take things slowly, and don’t force the dog to stay in the bathtub. After a few tries it will be a successful bath!

As I said before dog washing is important but it shouldn’t be exaggerated. Dogs’ hair and skin can get easily irritated when washed too often. It’s essential to buy a shampoo made especially for dogs, your own shampoo might make the dog’s skin itchy and dry. Shampoos for dog washing can be found in pet stores.

Everything you need for dog washing, dog bathing and dog grooming at home: dog grooming equipment!
