The hallmark of a healthy, happy and good looking pet is brought about by the kind of grooming that is offered to the pet. Whatever the dogs breed it is a basic requirement that dog owners provide grooming sessions so that the dogs can always look and feel their best. Most dog owners prefer to use dog groomers who are better placed to offer such services. However, this does not mean that the owner cannot make the effort and have fun grooming their pets. This requires the dog owner to have knowledge of certain steps that expert groomers use to have the maximum grooming session. dog grooming question by JJ: Dog Grooming business on your own. Could one person handle a shop alone?
I would prefer not to hire employee’s at least to start. This would not be a mobile dog grooming business but a stand alone shop.

yes, you can. I have 3 friends and all of them own grooming shops. At least 2 of them started out by themselves. One still works it on her own, out of her home and she makes really decent money. She usually does about 11-16 dogs per day (depending on the grooming need of the dogs). Even if you charges a flat rate of $ 25 per dog, that’s still a minimum of $ 255 per day. She works 5 days a week but is closed Sat after 1PM and all day on Sunday.
The only thing that’s going to cost you to get started is the equipment you need to have (scissors, brushes, clippers, blades, dryers, cages and of course a tub). There are some sites that you can find on the computer which sell used grooming equipment (such as grooming tables). I would be careful though about buying used clippers and blades. I bought a clipper with 4 blades for $ 100, thinking it was an awesome deal, but the clippers didn’t work and the blades were all dull.
Good luck
