OUR OWN EXPERIENCE

My family once had a very bad little dog named Bear.

Please understand! We are passionate dog-lovers. We have had a series of labs, retrievers, and even mixed-breed family dogs.

But we once had a very bad little dog named Bear.

At the risk of offending tiny toy dog lovers, I will not tell you what breed Bear was. He was, quite simply, a very bad little dog. He weighed less than ten pounds, even after a bath.

Bear barked all night long, particularly when my very young children and I were home alone.

Bear ruined the carpet in every room of our house and soiled several pieces of furniture.

Bear bit every single member of our family, as well as many visitors. When he finally bit the baby (right on the cheek), we knew it was time for Bear to go.

This very bad little dog finally found a wonderful new home with a lovely little old lady, who had several other toy breeds and covered her furniture with plastic tarps. In her eyes, Bear could do no wrong.

Within weeks, after Bear left, a lovely large golden retriever joined our clan. Our family has never been the same. How we love her! (Of course, she thinks she’s a lap-dog, but we know the truth!)
