Dog Grooming Table question by tina b: can I get unemployment or temporary disability benefits if I work an under the table job?
Okay so here is my question. I work an under the table job grooming dogs. I injured my hand (not at work) and cut a tendon… I probably won’t be able to work for about 3 months due to necessary surgery. Is there any way I can receive any kind of temporary benefits in the state of new jersey?

UI benefits are determined by actual worked and appropriately taxed income from a certain part of time. If this is all you have ever done, and never recieved any 1099 that you paid fed tax on and all the other taxes, there is no UI benefit for you, and to admit you worked under the table, its illegal for you and the employer. So as far as it sounds, you do not work. Now go see if you can get disability or something, more likely welfare will be a possible option. Remember though, people with money in a bank account, and a history of paying rent and bills, must provide the info on who gave them that money, a roomate paying rent who will sign a sworn statement they did so, or a spouse paid for it all, and his money is enough to cover all your families spending. Its the bad thing about under the table, it has no benefits built in for you in place.

The Effective Way of Caring for your Dog

Article by Richard Perkins

The basic tips for caring for your dog are pretty much the same as the tips for your personal care. What are the basic things that make up your personal list of personal care to do? Most likely it includes taking a bath at least once a day; making your hair either by combing or setting it; trimming your nails, and cutting or styling your hair. Body care and general grooming for dogs involves these very same things. We will briefly highlight three of the main ones here and the benefits they have for your dog.

Bathing your dog will require for you to get a bathing tub or at the least, a basin that your dog can fit in. Dog’s hair or fur will be better cleaned if you use shampoo which is best suited for cleaning these kinds of fibers. Ordinary soap can still serve you well if the shampoo is not an option you want to go for. You will also need to other items for this, a scrubbing brush and a hair dryer. Scrubbing should be done gently, and for younger dogs, you may even prefer to use your hands to be sufficiently gentle. Once you have finished bathing and rinsing the dog, use the dryer the same way you do when drying your hair.

Grooming of pet’s nails is often referred to as peticure. Like human manicure and pedicure, this involves trimming of nails and cleaning them. It is advisable that you use a grooming table for this procedure because of the several features it has. A standard dog grooming table has a friction enhanced surface that prevents skidding as well as a brace to help fasten the dog. These two features are useful because nail trimming is extremely hard, even dangerous when the dog is moving around. To minimize movement even further, place the dog next to your body and hold it with your arm – kind of giving it a side hug.

The last key care item we will discuss here is hair clipping. (Of course, these are not the only care procedures, but these three make the main ones). For this procedure also, your grooming table will prove handy, for the same reasons as above. Additionally, the grooming table can be adjusted to your height which increases your comfort as you work. There are many hair clippers in the market for specifically designed for this work.

Learn to groom dogs in 3 easy steps.

Article by E. Michaels

If you are anything like me, you love your dogs and want to keep them groomed as best as possible. Unfortunately, crating, packing up the car and then traveling to the nearest groomer can be stressful to both yourself and your dog, not to mention costly. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to provide your dog a top quality grooming experience in the comfort of your own home? I am going to share with you 3 easy steps that will allow you to begin dog grooming on your own.

Step 1: Learn to Brush. Brushing is the foundation of proper pet grooming, not only does brushing help your dog’s skin and coat health, it will also create a strong bond between you and your dog. Breed standards and coat will determine how often you should be brushing but a basic guideline is to brush daily for silky or long coated dogs and to brush one to two times a week for a short or curly coated dog.

Step 2: Give your dog a bath. Luckily for us, dogs in general tend to be happy to get into water and this makes bathing a snap compared to other home pets. The rule of thumb is that a dog should be bathed every 2 months or so and definitely no more than once per month. The reason for such long periods between bathing is to protect your dog’s natural oils. These oils are what allow dogs to be such great swimmers and also what allows their fur to keep them warm. In the warmest months of the summer, longer haired dogs may require washing as often as every two weeks but if so, it is important to use high quality pet shampoo’s to protect their natural oils and keep their skin from becoming irritated.

Step 3: Dry out your dog’s coat. When drying a dog most people choose to use a towel however it is perfectly fine to use a blow dryer or even a combination of the two. While keeping a calm tone, remove excess water by commanding the dog to shake or by simply petting the dog in long strokes that push out the excess water from the coat. Once excess water is removed, use towels to hand dry the dog from the head to the back and then from the sides to the underside, chest, legs and tail.

In this article I have shared the three basic steps of successful dog grooming: brushing, washing and drying. As always, consult your dog’s breed standard before grooming to ensure the highest level of care. What Dogs Can Be Groomed

Many people wonder if they can actually groom their dog, and the answer is simple with a deeper explanation beyond it – Yes, you can groom your dog regardless of the breed, but depending on the breed, or more so the type and length of the cat will depend on how you groom your dog. There is no dog that you can not groom, or that would not benefit from grooming including bathing, brushing the coat, cleaning the facial area and so on. All these have separate benefits, but they all have some benefits in common, and many owners don
