I have bought several “kits” by Oster and Wahl and after only one clipping, the blade is dull and won’t cut? Plus, you can never find the replacement blades where you bought the kit. If you are clipping dirty matted dogs or dogs with really heavy hair coats you are better off buying a commercial pair of clippers that have interchangeable blades. They do cost more. Most are over $ 100 but they are less frustrating to use.
You can also have the blades on you kit clippers sharpened which is cheaper then buying a new pair all the time. Call your vet, pet shop, or groomer and ask where they have their blades sharpened. Not all sharpeners are created equal either.
