If you have a medium sized doggie and are looking for a crate because you live in an apartment, this particular model is a good choice. Crate training is amazingly simple (just don’t use it for punishment–make it a happy experience when your puppy go into his crate). We have been using this for two months, and he takes to it easily.

1. Easy to put together and fold away. Solid black e-coat steel wire, conjoined with small metal plates with welded corners facing out. It comes with a slightly smaller divider that you can hook to the insides of the crate. As our puppy got bigger, we moved the divider and eventually removed it.

2. The two doors (one on the long end is off-centered) are not removable and opens only one way so it’s not omni-directional when you place it in tight spaces. You may want to check out some crates with three doors if so.

3. The bottom tray is made of black-composite plastic material, easy to wipe clean and slide out from under the short end of the door.

4. I like the double latch, but some people may find it a little more work to open and close day-to-day.

5. If you buy a crate cover, check out Cratewear Pet Dreams 3-Piece (which fits this model well, but only work with the door on the short end).

6. For this price, it’s a good crate to highly consider because your goal is to have a sanctuary for your puppy (for time out and quiet-time) and to housebreak your dog and/or temperate from negative behavior (such as chewing furniture, etc.)

I purchased this crate from Petsmart for my newly adopted dog. They size these crates based on dog weight, but I would measure your dog to make sure they fit.

My dog is less than 45 lbs, but his head touches the top of this crate when he sits up. He has room to lay down, but he can’t really stretch out. I am ordering the next size up from Amazon for him however, and will use this one as a travel crate.

It set up in less than a minute, and everything works very well on it. The crate seems very sturdy and I’ve had no problems at all.

This is an excelent crate and you can’t beat the price! This same stlye crate sells for 0.00 at my local agway. Excellent quality, easy assembly pops right up. Just slip clips over and under on front. Folds up suitcase style for travel or storage. Came with a divider that wasn’t mentioned in description. Nice bonus. Ample room for my 2 dogs. Even with divider in place. LOVE the top door! can put in toys or food and water with out them trying to get out. I am looking forward to many years of use!

We are very pleased with this kennel – it has 3 openings – on the top, the narrow side and long side. We use the door on the long side because it feels more expansive. The bottom tray is metal rather than plastic – so if you have a pet that is not yet trained, I’d suggest putting a puppy pad down so the tray doesn’t rust. The kennel is not real heavy like some we looked at and that’s a plus since this kennel folds up for easy transport and storage.

I ordered the pan from orek and they cancelled my order, so i had to reorder. Thought I’d try MUTTMART. They shipped it pretty quick but somehow they sent my pan to California and I live in MICHIGAN. Real convenient. My Leonberger is huge at 7 months. I wish i had the pan to help make her crate more comfortable. Hopefully muttmart will come through and correct their problem!! be careful !!

This kennel is much nicer, and quite a bit cheaper, than anything I could find locally. Granted, by the time I paid shipping costs it came out to about the same price (though still cheaper) than the largest kennel Wal Mart sells. This kennel is larger still and has the plastic bottom, which my dog seems to like much more than the noisy metal ones. I have already recommended this cage to several friends.

I recently purchased a 42″ dog crate by Best Pet. It was delivered very quickly and was much, much cheaper than any other crate I had found, both online or in store. I can’t stress that enough! A crate of this size to this was easily selling for anywhere from 0 [minimum!] to upwards of 0. I pair somewhere around with shipping [because it is so heavy]. Although the metal is a bit flimsy, I’d say the purchase was well worth it. The three doors and easily removable pan are very convenient. I am very pleased my purchase, as is my dog. I got the large size crate (recommended for Golden Retrievers and Chows) for my 85 pound German Shepherd. This crate is roomy to put it nicely. There is enough room in the crate for both of my dogs (the 85 lb shepherd and another 70 pound shepherd) side by side. The crate is almost as big as my large kitchen table! As long as you aren’t short on space, this is great but if you have a small apartment this crate is really going to limit your space. It seemed to have thick gauge wires when I saw it at the store but after taking on a road trip where it had to be folded and it got kneeled on while packing it up, the wires are bent. It still functions when open, but the clips that are designed to hold it shut when folded are mangled beyond repair. In it’s defense though, the big dog inside paws it when she wants out and she hasn’t damaged it. The three doors make it more versatile but each door only opens one direction so you still have to be thoughtful about where you are placing it, especially with it’s size. It is very easy to remove the doors and put them back on. It’s very roomy and luxurious, but very large and heavy and could definately have thicker gauge wires to make it more durable.

I purchased the 24″ crate for my toy breed dog that should be arriving this spring. This crate is intended for a Morkie (Yorkshire/Maltese Mix). I expect the dog to reach an adult weight of 8 to 11 lbs based on his parents’ size. The 24″ crate should suffice for the dog’s entire life. The included divider will allow me to create just enough space for the dog as he grows (so as to avoid soiling in the crate). Tip: dogs will not defecate in their crate if there is just enough space for them to sleep/stand up/stretch out. I tested this crate with my mother’s dogs (a yorkshire terrier at 10 lbs, and a bichon frise at 14 lbs) and both were able to stand up and sleep in the crate comfortably. Also, these two dogs love to stretch out in all sorts of positions when they sleep, and the crate accommodated them well.

On to the crate itself…this crate arrives folded down. There are two clips that hold the crate in its locked position. Unlock these clips and the crate’s ceiling and 2 walls lift up creating a box. Then lift the remaining two walls, and you’re set. The crate is sturdy when assembled. The pan is sufficient…I see that some people had problems with their pan cracking, but I imagine that it should not be a problem for smaller, lighter breeds.

I plan to purchase a crate cover that will complete the den like feeling dogs love. Keep in mind that you will need to purchase some type of bed to place in this crate. I strongly recommend purchasing the “west paw nature nap” available here on amazon. It costs more than the typical fleece bumper bed you typically buy for crates, but it lasts forever! My mother’s dogs are 11 years old and we bought their west paw beds 6 years ago. The beds have been washed numerous times and they still appear new.

I strongly recommend this crate, both for its material and design. Having a door on the side wall allows placement options in my home. I’m currently in Manhattan, New York City, so having this placement option in my apartment is very important for me. The third door is nice to have, as well. I’ll update this in 8 to 10 months and share my experience with the crate.

The Kennel/crate tray is much sturdier than other plastic. My puppy has a tendency to eat plastic trays w/in 1 week. This kennel is well worth the cost. The only negative comment is that the box was pretty torn up when it arrived and a corner of the metal tray was slightly bent. Overall, I would purchase again!

This crate is wonderful. It has 3 doors, even one on top, which make it easy to clean and to replace food and water. My two dogs, a Siberian Husky and a Border Collie pup sleep together very comfortably. Great product for a great price.

We ordered this for our Boston Terrier after he had chewed up is other foldable fabric based crate. We use it at home in the house and then collapse it to take with us when we travel to festivals so he can be with us. It is high enough that he can stand up and wide enough that he can turn around and get comfy. No more chewing through either. Plus the price was great.
