Puppia harnesses are the best your dog can wear. The doggies don’t strain against narrow bands while walking and it is easy on their little chests. Seems to prevent trachea collapse, often seen in small dogs when walking.

I have two dogs and they both have a Puppia harness in small. I first bought it for my 8 year-old, nine-pound dachshund with a bad back. I was worried about injuring her back with a collar and leash, and then loved it so much I bought one for my new puppy a 6 pound, poodle/schnauzer mix.

Both dogs fit a size small, as it measured around the neck and the chest is adjustable. I expect that my puppy will not need to size up, as she has a little room to grow, but it still fits comfortably on her now. The material is soft and the harnesses wash up nice. Both dogs get very excited when we pull the harnesses out and love to take walks with them on. They are very cute and look like the dogs are wearing adorable little pink vests. The pink is very pink and saturated, if you’re not a pink person, I would recommend the blue.

I thought this would stop more rain from getting on my dog than it did. His feet still get wet of course, but the hood doesn’t stay on his head and it’s difficult to get the back elastic straps to keep this straight on his back end. Overall, it keeps the bulk of his body dry, but be prepared to still wipe his belly, head, and feet.

This poncho served its purpose although it is on the flimy side and tore rather easily with my dog squirming around. I bought the extra-large size for my 42 lb dog and thought that would be big enough but it ripped pretty easily.

These long johns were very cute, but I should have ordered Mediums. They were a bit short and snug on both my 15 lb. Boston terrier and my mother-in-law’s 14 lb. Westie. Still a riot at our Christmas get together!

The weather gets cooler and cooler so I thought that it is high time to find some appropriate apparel for my cute dog. This one grabed my attention because the colors are great and it is thick enough to keep it warm. The price is also good. If you don’t have a pet shop nearby this is a great option.

I bought four of these sweaters for my dogs; two red and two blue. They are dachshunds one is 8lbs (size small) and one is 14lbs (size medium.) The sizing is more for the length of the sweater than the circumference of their chest/belly.

Pros

+rich color with contrasting arms and neck edge

+has an opening on the back for a harness

Cons

-Poorly constructed (my medium sized dog’s sweater ripped in the arm after the first use and no activity – she has a heart condition, physical activity is not even possible)

-back leg straps – this may be a positive for some, but I prefer not to have the back straps, they always seem to get tangled in them

-does not wash up nicely – material pilled even after being washed gently with Woolite

I had two other of these sweaters on back-order, but I immediatly cancelled them as it was a waste of money. I would not recommend these sweaters.

The doggie vest was everything advertised and more! Too bad it couldn’t make my pup less afraid of the water!! (HA-HA)It kept him afloat and was very easy to put on and make adjustments to. Great item!

I didn’t buy this vest, from Amazon.com because my dog is an odd size and I had a gift certificate for a local store. This vest fits him very good. We even tried it out and he acted as if he wasn’t wearing it. We went to the beach and he is was the talk of the group. A Pug wearing a lifevest while running in and out of the water with the big boys. I would highly recommend this for a small dog, any dog. It has clips so he could easily be picked up without it unhooking. Like someone said “like picking up a six-pack”. I like the extra floatation at the front so my Pugs’ nose is kept above the water. Now, I have to remember to put it in the car whenever I take him out, just in case we come across some water for him to jump into. Thank you

These are good in theory. The seller shipped them ridiculously fast. However, as I sent my puppy (he’s 60 pounds at 8 months) out in the rain, I was surprised that he came back with these still on. As tight as you can velcro them, he “could” use his teeth to take them off. Also I noticed after taking them off, his paws were wet. UGH! Not waterproof as the water went right through them. Defeats the purpose of wiping off his paws. They will be could for avoiding mud “if” he comes back with all 4 boots on. I will check for something maybe made of Gor-Tex and that has a better way to hold on the dog’s feet. It will be more money, but these are kind of lacking for the purpose they are suppose to serve.

We bought 3 pair of these for our Bichon Frise pups to wear when we take them for their nightly walk. They are fine for snow, but not for wet, dirty pavement. Within a week of walking on the pavement every night there were holes in the toes where the fabric (including the lining) had worn through.

I recycled the velcro strips from these boots as fasteners for 12 fleece boots that took about an hour to make. The fleece booties are intact after 3 weeks of daily walks.
