We bought these clippers to trim our long haired German Shepherd Dog. She had a very thick under coat. The clippers worked great. I had no previous training using clippers, so I was a bit nervous about accidentally cutting her. That was never a problem at all. The clippers took a bit of practice to get used to, but once I got the feel of it I was confident. I bought a #7 blade and that’s what we used for her heavy coat. I also bought a can of the Andis Cool Care Plus spray. The blade does get hot while clipping, the spray helped to cool it down so we could continue in one session.

The amazing thing about these clippers is that they seem so solidly built. They are not very noisy at all. Actually, my husband and I laugh because these animal clippers are much better than the “human” ones they use on him when he gets a haircut.

I have a black, long-hair, dauschound-spaniel mix (Macy) that has an undercoat so thick I can hardley see her skin. My husband got a pair of Oster clippers at Wal-Mart and they worked fine on our Bicha-Poo who has fine, short hair. But on Macy? They barley cut, they clogged easily as I drug the clipper along her coat and were basically useless. We live in South Texas and in this 100+ degree heat, the poor thing was miserable. So I sprung for the Andis after reading good reviews. I bought them from KV Vet Supply off Amazon and they were a great seller. Everything arrived quickly and the order was complete. These clippers aren’t cheap, but a trip to the groomer for both dogs is around 0 so I figure they will pay for themselves in less than two clippings. Poor Macy! As soon as they arrived, I have to play with them of course. So I get a hold of her and I was totally unprepared for how they were going to perform. Wow! They went right down to her undercoat like she didn’t have a top coat at all and trimmed perfectly. However, she’s looking a little ragged! I’ll get better with the blade angle as time goes by I’m sure. But she’s much cooler and happier now. And I’m no longer losing my mind with little balls of black fur she leaves behind when she needs a trim. The blades didn’t get hot like I have read about some. Of course, she is less than 30 pounds so there is less of her to cut. Perhaps on a bigger dog, they may get hot. I bought the cooling spray too but discovered I really didn’t need it since I was done with her in about 10 minutes. These are a great product and I highly recommend!

With three dogs of varying types, we needed both the defurring tool and the clippers. The clippers work really well which surprised me for the price. I can get my 10 lb. dog trimmed quickly (poodle mix) which is important since she has very little tolerance for pain (lots of tangles). All the dogs love the vibrating comb – some just line up for the massage when they see the comb in my hand. Very pleased with this purchase.

My husband and I searched online for a reasonably priced dog grooming kit. Most kits were expensive, so we found this one which was about .00. We have a poodle-mix and were pleasantly surprised by the performance of the clipper. Yes, it does get hot, but only after it is used continuously for an extended period of time which for us, was around the time we were finished. The many attachments are great too, because our dog requires short and long cuts. I had never used a power de-shedder…this one is great!!! It takes out matting with ease and doesn’t pull on my pet’s hair!!I highly recommend this product for the first-time groomer!! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised as well!

I have purchased 6 different clippers over the last 8 years. This is my second set of Oster’s and I will never buy anything else again. The first pair were broken by my parents and husband after 6 years of heavy use (including horses, dogs and a cat). The rest of the clippers were -0, purchased from pet stores and most broke within the first few uses. These are the absolute best clippers ever. I have a long hair cat that needs clipping every 6 months and she hardly fought the clippers this time. Sharp, powerful, and remarkably quiet. Love them!

We got our Turbo A5 2-Speed Clipper 4 years ago, after having used cheaper ones, which did not last long, particularly with our last two very wooly cocker spaniels.

This is the third clipper that my wife and I have bought and also the best.We bought cheaper clippers in the past which did a O.K. job but not like this one.We have two cats a persian and a himalayan which we like to keep trimed in the summer with this clipper we finished the hair cuts in about twenty minutes instead of hours.Our cats didn’t seem to mind as bad either.This might seem like alot of money for a clipper but compaired to two pet groomings at to a piece its a good buy.BUY THIS CLIPPER IF YOU HAVE A LONG HAIR PET!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased my original clippers back about 1985 for less than . They worked flawlessly for these many years on my various pairs of miniature schnauzers until, alas, I knocked them off the grooming table onto a cement floor where the case smashed into many pieces. The new one seems a replica of the old one which is refreshing since I assumed the casing now would be flimsier while encasing lesser quality innards. I’m happy to say that it seems the same great clipper as before. There were two changes I noted however. It now has two speeds and the cost has doubled.

These are the best nail clippers I have ever used. My Great Dane obviously has very big thick nails and they slice right through without crushing or splintering. No need to follow up with a file! I have used them several times and they are not getting dull at all. The handle is comfortable with no pinching effect on your hand like I have experienced with some other clippers. Much easier to position than the guillotine style. The only improvement I would make is a guard to help keep from taking off too much at one time. Not a big deal though as I just take small bits at a time to avoid the quick. My Dane falls asleep while I’m clipping his nails — Be very careful if you have a nervous squirming pet, these are very sharp!

THESE ARE THE GREATEST CLIPPERS EVER. BEING STAINLESS STEEL, I CAN WASH THEM & NOT WORRY ABOUT RUST. I USE THEM TO TRIM THE NAILS ON MY DOBERMAN & MACAW, BUT I ALSO FOUND THAT THEY WILL CUT MY PRESCRIPTION PILLS IN HALF VERY NICELY ( YES, I WASH THEM FIRST). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE CLIPPERS TO ANYONE WITH LARGE PETS.

I bought this clipper for our cocker spaniel. I wanted to learn to shave him myself to save money on taking him to a groomer every two weeks. So far I have used it on him 3 times without any problems. It is pretty quiet and was easy for me to use on him from the start. There are 4 blade attachments but I generally use the shortest on him for an all over cut. (I’m not trying to do anything fancy with it.) He is getting more used to it and each time I get faster with it. I definately recommend it for beginners.

Animals vary greatly in temperment so if you can borrow a friends clipper to try on your animal first I recommend it before making the investment. We have two cats so this clipper more or less paid for itself the first year in use.

We tried my sister’s animal clipper the first year. The second year we tried two from Target and one from Petsmart. Wahl, Conair, Oster, some meant for pets, some for human hair. Finally bit the bullet and got this one from Petsmart. Pricier than the first we bought from them but worth it. (They were kind enough to let us return the first one)

In hindsight, if we had the option of buying the clipper only we would have as we don’t need all the combs, and if you don’t need the extras you can get the clipper by itself for a lot less. The black plastic molded case ours came with is very convenient, however.

Be careful when buying this clipper – the actual model of the clipper is MBG2 and it comes with a #10 blade. THERE ARE TWO ANDIS “PET PRO” CLIPPERS and the other one (The body is shorter, without the swoopy curve on the handle) doesn’t get very good reviews.

Himalayan cats are like Persians and have massive amounts of extremely fine hair. The other clippers we tried bogged down immediately and got very hot. This blazes through and is also quieter and cooler than the other ones which is good since our Siamese is jumpy.

In terms of cat-trimming technique, we first trim all the nails (just in case) then sit on a chair on our deck, with a towel in our lap.

Cat in lap on towel, pet for a few minutes until they purr, then start clipping. It helps to keep some tension on their skin with the other hand. Imagine you are petting with your left hand to your left, and the clipper is in your right hand moving to your right.

My ratings: 1 star: Avoid! / 2 stars: Some merit but I can’t recommend / 3 stars: Decent, nice / 4 stars: Recommended / 5 stars: Nearly perfect!

I received the Peticure Elite cordless model 7802 last week which came with a partial charge. The first thing I noticed about the Elite is the plastic casing felt well constructed, not as quality as Dremil, but satisfactory for it’s purpose. The collar threads below the bit collet are not the same as a Dremil, so you obviously cannot transfer the “Safe Guard” (collects nail dust) to your Dremil. Proprietary, smart.

When I turned on the motor using the variable speed control I noticed the motor is rather weak and produced very little or no torquekick starting off, unlike my Dremil. This indicated Peticure skimped on the quality of the motor probably to lower production costs. Did I mention it’s made in China? So much for keeping jobs in America.

I read all the directions, fully charged the battery, and filed my dogs nails accordingly. The first three paws sanded fine, only taking off a little and not spending more than 3-5 sec per
ail as to not burn it. While finishing up on the last nail the Elite just shut downdied. I thought the battery charge was spent but usually that is indicated by a slowing motor; it simply died.

I thought, “Don’t tell me the motor has already burnt out?” Being doubtful that this couldn’t possibly be that big of a piece-O-crap I charged the battery again. I plugged the battery back into the Elite and guess what, the motor is fried. I was barely applying pressure to the nail while filing at the time the motor died! My suspicion of a cheap motor was correct. I turned my Dremil on, which is the same size, and the difference in soundpower orque is worlds better than the Peticure Elite. This would never happen to my Dremil and I’ve ran it on lesser duties for minutes.

The Elite apparently isn’t so “Elite”. It’s going back in the box and back to Peticure. I don’t want to take a chance upgrading to the “Power” version in fear of wasting more of my time and money.

Conclusion: Great designconcept, weak, cheap motor. What a disappointment.

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE PETICURE POWER, PROFESSIONAL MODEL.

I have a great dog with a good temperament. However, to cut his nails and then spend a long time filing them takes a lot of time and patience on both the dog’s and dog parent’s part.

Even with walking outside the nails are still sharp. I saw an ad for the Pedipaws but searching on the internet, it was an offshoot from the Dremel and Peticure.

Not having much experience with these devices, I compared the prices of the 3 models by Peticure. There are three models: The Petite, Elite and Power. The Petite and Elite come with 3 filing bands. The Power which operates through a plug has 20 extra bands, is lighter and 2 times more powerful. Given the fact that bands are for 20, there is no reason to get nothing but the Power model (except for recharging capability).

The 2 sheets that accompany the model are poorly written. You have to refer to the company website to watch the videos on how to operate this. Putting the thing together is not intuitive. More explicit directions would have been better.

You need to remove the plastic ring at the base of the head to attach the guard. You push the lock button to untwist the mechanism to place the drum on the unit.

The noise is a moderate pitched whirring sound. My dog was not frightened by it. There are preset ports that the nail is placed into. Stabilize the pet’s finger and use quick strokes to file the nail. After some awkwardness of the operator, me, I got the hang of it. There are videos on the website to direct you. Dewclaws (at least on my dog’s) were impossible to file. The guard prevents but does not entirely eliminate the possibility of hair getting caught into the mechanism so be careful.

After spending 3 times more effort assembling the unit versus actually using it, I was quite satisfied with it.

If you are concerned about cutting your dog’s nails but want something quicker to use, this is IT! This helps me round out the ‘sharp nails’ that I have to deal with when my doggy greets us.

Aside from the stated 4-6 weeks of receiving it from ordering, it was worth the wait.

I highly recommend THE PEDICURE POWER, PROFESSIONAL MODEL.
